Hi! I know it sounds lame, but probably because there is still an Hard Drive in it. You should upgrade it to an SSD. This will increase boost big time! However, you can also try to format the system (make a back-up first) and then reinstall Windows on it again.
It seems to me to be an old hard drive, or a failing one. If i were you, back up everything important to you on a flash drive (or other storage media) asap. I just had this problem with my hp laptop, but I couldnt even get it to get past the password screen. It would just load and load and load.
