Hi everyone, I’m on an late 2014 Imac, running Catalina 10.15.7 and recently my camera and mic are not working with any app or browser. I’ve checked all security and privacy settings are correct, reset with PRAM, turned on dictation and the camera is recognised in the system report but I’m getting absolutely nothing. A diognotsic test has come back with a NDC001 code. Any ideas? thanks in advance.
Well the error message is clear you have a camera failure! Sadly, there is nothing you can do within software, you need to fix the camera. As to what is needed: Depending on what you discover after removing the display assembly iMac Intel 27" Retina 5K Display Display Replacement Inspecting the camera and its data cable for physical damage would be the first things I would do. I would also try replacing the camera unit 14/M15 27” iMac 27" Retina 5K FaceTime Camera, Apple P/N 923-00088 hopefully that’s all it needs.
