My computer has an intel core i5 witch i have read are quite power full but when I’m using my computer to play games for example I only get around 10 fps. I think it might be that it has only 2gb of ram but I’m not sure. Does anyone know?

Well, it’s an Apple device. There are lots of things it could be, the abysmal 1GHz CPU definitely doesn’t help, even for 2011 that is shockingly slow. The RAM is pretty slow at 1333MHz, but that should only be an issue during loading screens. The biggest factor here, besides being made by Apple, is this computer does not have a graphics card, and relies on the CPUs internal video processor to produce the most basic rendering abilities. Like showing the desktop and application windows, and some basic 3D display.Trying to game on embedded graphics is extremely painful, either play older games, 1998-2003 era 3D games should run at almost full speed on this machine, or see if Apple sells a dongle that lets you plug in an external graphics card.If you have the money, build a gaming rig for games, and just use this laptop for what it was intended for, office programs.

Hi You are correct about intel core i5 being good prosessors but the one you have is from 2011 witch is quite sometime before most modern games were published and the 2gb of ram probably isn’t helping Long story short :your prosessor is a little on the old side and you will need newer hardware and a dedicated GPU in the 15inch and 16inch MacBook Pro’s if you want to get the best gaming performance for games on your Mac Hopefully this answers your question Any questions please ask Thanks:)
