I have a Corsair MP600 Pro LPX which I have tried installing in my PS5. I followed Corsair’s own guide to install the drive (more or less identical to iFixit’s guide), but when I boot up my console, the PS5 doesnt recognise that there is an SSD connected. One issue I noticed is that there never was any “springy-ness” when the drive is connected - it just lies flat in the SSD bay. Do I have a broken SSD-slot, a defective M.2. SSD, or have I missed something?
When you say there is “no springy-ness,” you mean like step 14 in the guide? Most m.2 slots require you to insert the drive at an angle and will behave like this, similar to soDIMM (laptop size) RAM sticks. They sit in the slot and you press them down to click into place. Or in this case to screw it down. Perhaps it’s not fully seated into the slot? Can you take some photos of your installation of the SSD? That might help to narrow down the issue. You can edit them into your original question.
