Hello ppl of the internet I have a problem with my ps4 where when I try to put the disk inside the optical drive it won’t go in unless you force it and jam it in. I also find it weird that when the ps4 isn’t booted up fully the disk goes in when I try to put it in but then it immediately goes out I need help my ps4 pro is from 2017 Christmas btw.
The answer to this depends upon the reason for the malfunction. Take a look at the drive.(Note: you will need to remove the drive for this.) There are 2 arms that are the triggers for the loading of the disc. If these arms are just loose without any tension, then the spring that provides that tension is either broken or missing. (There are You-tube videos that show this.) Also, try moving these arms outward from center and watch the other ends of the arms There should be a small PC board with a tact switch mounted on it that triggers the system to start the load process. This switch may be malfunctioning as well. The other possibility is that the loading gears are out of “timing”. This usually happens when someone forces a disc and causes the gears to skip a tooth or two. This is a little more “fun” to address, but rarely happens so lets hope that this is not the case. Dan
