Hello… I have a Macbook late unibody 2008 2.4Ghz. I am having problems on my display mac, my display is not on as normal, the indicator light is on and the cooling fan and cd player are running normally but the inner cd chip can not get out. ram and my original hard drive. I’ve tried to remove the battery and the mag safe and press the power button for 30 seconds, but the display remains black and there is no sound at the start up. please help as well as his information what I should do. Lets try a few tests here: Restart your system with the MagSafe power adapter plugged in. Do you hear the Start up tone at all? Is the MagSafe cords LED Amber or Green? If Amber does it ever change to Green? It may take a few hours for the battery to charge. You system also has a battery checker on the side. When you press the button how many little green LED’s light up? You should have eight lit when the battery is fully charged. OK, lets move on to your display using a flashlight shine it from the back through the Apple Logo while dim can you see your desktop icons? If you do then the backlight logic has a problem. If you can’t lets try connecting an external monitor to your system to see if the external display shows your desktop.
