Why Is My Element Tv Showing Only Black And White Television

I recently got my Element tv (model ELCFW328) back out of pawn and tried watching a movie. The menu is in color along with the tv being being blue before connecting the DVD player and putting it on component. When I do this the screen is black gray and white. Although the menu and the “channel” are still in color. I tried using different DVD players and even my Wii and everything turns up the same results. I tried placing the cords in all ways it could go and found that it only worked in the ones I had them in in the first place. I’m kind of frustrated and not sure what to do.

If the menu and other things are in color, than it’s probably not a hardware problem. My guess is that whoever had the TV before you inadvertently switched it to black and white. Look in the settings of the TV, (especially under display) and try to find an option that says “Color” or something like that and make sure it’s switched on.

I figured it out! Go to SOURCE. (button on controller) Do NOT select “component”. That’s your mistake. Select “video”. I think that’s what it was. Audio video; something like that. But NOT component.
