Hi everyone! So, I have a fully functional laptop and I was using it for work. While charging, I accidentally “almost”plugged in the Thunderbolt adapter to the firewire 800 port then there was a spark. Now my laptop just shut down out of nowhere. It’s not charging, the keyboard lights are not working and the battery indicator lights as well. My fan is also really noisy (video uploaded here for the fan noise: https://www.reddit.com/r/macbookrepair/c…) Would doing an SMC reset fix this? Thank you!

No, you need to reset SMC. Follow this guide: How to reset the SMC of your Mac
