The power trips immediately when the fridge is plugged in
Check to verify that the outlet is NOT a GFCI outlet. The fridge should be plugged into a standard outlet. If the above is not hte problem, then the compressor may have a problem that is causing a short which would trip the breaker. You can also check for a short by measuring the resistance across the two paddles of the plug. It should not read zero. Dan
