I have a 2003 Nissan Murano, my front wipers not working

@jgober0 this is a tough one. There are two things to do 1) check fuses, and 2) perform an “Auto Active Test”. Apparently there are at least 7 fuses that can affect the wiper function. I suggest you check all of the fuses until you find a blown one. Okay here is the weirdest test you can do. It checks all accessories that are affected by the IPDM (intelligent power distribution module) Give it a try and see what happens.

  1. Close all doors
  2. Turn ignition OFF
  3. Turn ignition ON and within 20 seconds, OPEN and CLOSE the driver’s door 10 times, and turn ignition OFF.
  4. Turn ignition ON within 10 seconds.
  5. The test is now started and will cycle THREE times.
  6. You can cancel the test anytime by turning the ignition OFF. Here is what happens if everything is working:
  7. Rear window defogger turns on for 10 seconds
  8. Front wipers operate on LOW for 5 seconds, then HIGH for 5 seconds
  9. Parking lights turn on for 5 seconds
  10. Fogs lamps turn on for 10 seconds
  11. Headlights turn on for 10 seconds
  12. High beam solenoid engages 5 times
  13. A/C compressor clutch cycles 5 times
  14. Engine cooling fan cycles between Low (5 seconds) and High (5 seconds). Sounds crazy and I am sure you do not want to do that in front of anybody. They might think you are crazy as well. Anyhow, if your wiper does come on you ruled out a defective switch and/or switch circuit. If not, check fuses and wiper motor.
