Hello, Recently I dropped my iPhone on the corner of a table and shattered the screen. While replacing any screen I always disconnect the battery to protect against any shorting out. After the screen was done I plugged the battery back in and plugged it in and nothing happened. I tried multiple different cables and wall outlets and nothing was working. All I did was unplug the battery connector awhile I replaced the screen then after it wasn’t working. Do keep in mind that it was working even with the cracked screen and everything. It also cant be a faulty screen because it doesn’t vibrate or show up in iTunes. Can someone please help me solve my issue. Thank you
If your phone isn’t turning on or charging, the most likely thing wrong with it would be your charging port. The charging port connector is right above the battery connector, so when disconnecting the battery you may have accidently disconnected that too. I would reopen the phone and check the connector, and replace it if necessary. It’s possible, however not likely, that your battery has gone bad in the phone. Most of the iPhone 5 batteries went bad pretty quick, and disconnecting it may have pushed it over the edge. Remember though that it’s a possible scenario, but not a likely one. I would still check your charging port connector first.
