My lenovo Yoga 730 15IWL only works when plugged in. It constantly shows a 73% charge. Does not charge more than that and as soon as I unplug it, it shuts off. I already tried removing the battery and putting it back in, deleting and re-installing the drivers and BIOS but nothing works. Does anybody know a fix for this? Could it be that the battery is not good anymore?
Hi @grey20 It may be that the battery is failing and needs to be replaced. Create a battery report to check the status of the battery. When you have the report, compare the design capacity value versus the full charge capacity value. For a good battery they should be nearly the same. If it is determined that the battery is failing, here’s the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop. Go to p.32 to view the procedure to remove/replace the battery. The Lenovo part number is usually found printed on the battery, so search online using the part number only to find suppliers that suit you best. If you can’t find a part number use the battery’s make and model number.
