I travelled for a couple of days and left my MacBook at home. On getting back, I picked it up and tried charging it but I noticed that the charger didn’t show the orange charging color and my laptop wasn’t coming on. So I assumed my charger was faulty and the next day I went to a store with my laptop to get a new one. I started trying them on and none seemed to work as my laptop wasn’t charging. I tried taking out the battery and plugging it in directly but still no results and my laptop had no issues prior to this time, no spillage or hard drops. I took it to a repair shop and I’ve not got any positive feedback yet and it’s driving me crazy cuz I never knew this could happen. Please any advice on what can be the possible causes and what I should do?
Age is what likely got you! Just like people who become sedentary after working hard their whole life. The alteration of life style often causes many to loose the best years moving forward to illness or worse. Your Mac’s logic board needs repairs it could be as simple as a worn SMT component or cold solder joint. Even still your systems age also tells me your system is due for a new battery if you haven’t replaced at least once now. Also be aware knockoff chargers can damage your system! So do make sure you have a REAL Apple unit! For most weight is the only way to tell as they do a good job mimicking the Apple unit.
