My Sanwa YX360TRF Analog Multimeter has malfunctioned! I had set the dial to 750VAC and I tested it on a 220VAC power supply and I heard a mini-explosion inside the tester. I replaced its battery and fuse after it had blown. Now it gives me false readings.
Sadly, it does sound like your meter has become damaged internally. As much as I like analog meters they just don’t hold up as well as a digital unit. I think its time to upgrade to a digital meter ;-}
