When I plug in my headphones, my music plays out loud instead of to my headphones.
Hi @in33dhelp Have you checked that the headphone plug is fully inserted into the socket? Have you tried another set of headphones in case there is something physically wrong with the plug on the first set. When you plug a set of headphones into the phone does the headphone icon appear on the phone’s screen? If the headphone icon does appear when the headphones are inserted and to eliminate the possibility that it is a software problem, try starting the phone in safe mode just to check if the audio is now being sent to the headphones. If it is then a downloaded app maybe the cause of the problem. The trick is to find out which one. If the audio to the headphones still don’t work or If the headphone icon does not appear then you may have a hardware problem. It may be a problem with the headphone socket not registering correctly that a plug has been inserted. This could be due to a bent spring in the socket itself or perhaps something is lodged in there preventing a good connection between the plug and socket. The phone will have to be opened and the socket checked or replaced as they cannot be repaired easily. If the phone is still covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, check the warranty provisions or contact the manufacturer’s customer service centre to see if a faulty headphone socket is covered and will be repaired under warranty or whether damage to it is deemed “user abuse” and will not be covered.
