My phone recently began to randomly lose cellular reception in places in which it was normally fine. At first, a reboot would fix it, but it would eventually lose reception again. This became more and more frequent, and I started having to take out the sim card. This worked for a while, but now nothing will give me cellular, and I can only use my phone on wifi. What can I do to fix it?

Could be a few different things. First off, could be a faulty antenna needed to be replaced or a faulty SIM card or SIM card tray. However, it can also just be your network settings defaulting to something weird so I would go into your general settings, go to reset, and hit reset network settings. This doesn’t delete anything at all and just resets your cellular settings. Hopefully that works!

Maybe you have had water damage in the past? You can try to stick a piece of tape on your simcard so that it stay a little firmer in your simcard slot and make a better connection whit simcard reader in your iPhone ?

If phone has been diisassembled/ reassembled, ensure that every antenna connection is clean and we’ll seated. If this is all put together well, then a reflow of the rf transciever or a replacement of the antenna switch (rf5159) have proven to show results for me in the past.
