I have a Samsing Galaxy A5 (2017). One day it stopped charging and when plugged in, a burning smell is released from the charging port. The other end of the cable also gives off a burning smell. Any solutions, or advice on what I should replace? Also, what is the best adhesive/tape I can use to install the acrylic back after removing it? I’m looking for some adhesive that I can find somewere like bestbuy or walmart. Thanks.
@thestrangeslav something on your charging circuitry went array. You want to go ahead and stop trying to charge it etc. Then you want to go ahead and disassemble your device. Start this by using these guides Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) Repair and/or this video Then check your circuit boards for obviously damaged components etc. Post some good pictures of your boards with your QUESTION. That way we can see what you see. Adding images to an existing question After that follow the troubleshooting steps as suggested on here
The connector IFC6001 is available at places like this
if you smell a burning smell at both ends of the cable try a different USB Adapter and see what it does. on the samsung galaxy a5 it does not use adhesive, the screen just clips in.
if you smell burning it was caused by electricity and is melting/ burning something change USB adaptor see if that works if not change the charging board in the phone.
If my charging port smells like burning how do you stop it from burning
