Hello, I recently bought a iFixit battery for my retina 2015 MBP. After installing it I did the calibration steps the guide tells me to do. I charged it to 100% and kept it plugged in for 2hrs. When I unplugged it it was going well dropping very slowly. After 2hrs 27m, it shut off and when I plugged it in and turned on my mac, it was at 1%. After letting it charge at around 46% it was stuck there for like hours. I did a SMC reset and PRAM reset, but nothing worked. After letting it sit plugged in I unplugged and replugged in my adapter and after a few minutes it jumped to 100%.
mmm … Something is very odd here! Note the two manufacturing dates are both 2015! So SMC still thinks you have the original battery installed. So you need to do a full SMC reset to clear this only info as the new battery won’t work correctly until then. Shut down your system unplug the battery and anything plugged in the external ports press and hold the power button for a good 15 secs to fully discharge the logic board. Now plug in the MagSafe charger the system should spontaneously boot up, did it? Let it fulled boot and do a proper shutdown. reconnect the battery and restart again, let the system sit for a good 5 minutes and take a fresh snapshot post it here while its still plugged in.
