A week ago I ordered a used lcd screen which was graded A in quality. I noticed that the “black flat cables” was a little damaged but I didnt know if it would cause an issue so I went along and connected the screen anyways. Once I booted up the computer, the screen didnt turn on.. External display works fine though.. Any thoughts?

Like you said, it looks like the cable was severely damages, if not ripped. Unfortunately, this cable being ripped would make the new screen not function.

It’s not “a little damaged”. Similar damage on someone’s neck results in a dead person. The screen is dead, replace it.
