My phone started flickering at the bottom and then went black out of nowhere. Now there is a second lighter grey shade above it doing the same thing. I want to fix it before my screen completely goes. Is there anything i can do. I am on lockdown due to corona so going to the shop is not optional to get it fixed.
Hi, First backup the phone to the cloud or a PC, using the phone’s backup up feature, so that your data is safe in case the screen fails totally and you cannot access your data anymore for whatever reason. As a DIY repair all you can do is open the phone and check that the LCD screen connection is secure and if so then replace the LCD screen to determine if the problem is in the screen or the systemboard. Changing the screen on your phone is rated as difficult. Here’s a link to the ifixit Samsung Galaxy S7 Screen Replacement guide, which may be of some help. Replacement screens are available online.
