The screen froze on me while running an app. I tried both cleaning the screen and restarting it, but the touchscreen does not respond.

The problem is with the Google Play Store app. Try resetting the tablet to factory and do not sign into the Google Play Store. Any app that you need you can get from alternative app stores that you can download or you can go on the internet and search for the specific app by typing it in this way if I’m looking for let’s say Yahoo I would search “Yahoo APK”. I have managed to download an alternative app store to Google Play and I get all my apps from them. I also root at my tablet using Kingo root and I installed titanium backup to delete all the junk off of it all the kids stuff including parent mode it is now an adult regular tablet and runs great.

Your tablet must have either a faulty screen or display. If there is visible damage to the screen, this may cause the touchscreen to be unresponsive. If the screen is undamaged and clean, then the problem must be the display, in which case it needs to be replaced. Follow this troubleshooting guide to determine what the specific problem is.

The real issue is in the settings you need to turn off the NFC feature then everything will work the store and all the apps will run accordingly. Reset your device do not log into google account until you have turned off the NFC feature otherwise it will screw everything up so when initializing it promopts you to add your google again do not add it at this time let me know if that works for you
