Tv sound is working as should, but screen is black, if I leave tv on with black screen for a few days it will gradually begin turning a reddish color with black spots all over, but only in blotches, whole screen has never fully turned this reddish color. If I turn off tv for a few minutes screen will black out all over again. Also, if I hold a blow dryer toward the black TV screen for a certain period of time that area will begin slowly turning this reddish color I’ve mentioned. Can y’all help me out with this or do I need to throw the piece of junk away?
What you should do is take the back off, power up the tv then using the hair dryer point it at the boards (one at a time) until the screen shows a picture. When you find it, unplug the tv and take note of the board’s part # (taking pictures helps a lot). With this info you can now find a replacement board on ebay or amazon to replace it. Removing and installing a new board is not difficult at all, its more challenging to find the issue and its replacement. You may want to double check to make sure that you really found the problem before ordering a new one!
