My system keeps shutting down when I turn up volume. Lights randomly flash but won’t play unless I unplug & plug back then shuts off again when I turn up
If you are experiencing problems with your AVH Pioneer car stereo and it keeps shutting off, it could either be related to overheating or a wiring issue. If the car stereo internals overheat, the car stereo will automatically turn itself off to prevent it get damaged.
Tim Phillips you are not telling us if it stays on if you keep the volume low. This sounds very much like an issue with a power MOSFET. Download the service manual from here Try the Service mode as outlined in chapter 6. All of this is pretty involved since it is a pretty decent and complicated receiver. Let us know what you find out and if you are stuck with anything or found something suspicious and odd, post some images of it with your QUESTION. that way we can see what you see.
