Hi! So the power button lights up but the screen is black. I plug the charger in but the battery light just blinks orange. Not sure if its the charging port,the charger or the laptop. Is it an easy fix?
I would first measure the charger with a multimeter and see if you get the correct voltage. Then measure the amount of amps the laptop is drawing from the charger. Because the battery light responds when you plug in the charger it is unlikely that the charge port is bad. What I am guessing is that the charging IC is bad, if you know the charger is good. To verify, you will want to insert a charged battery and see if it powers on.
