Yes sir, a teardown is indeed imminent. Sometimes when you replace the digitiser assembly the home button is not lodged correctly. Easy fix. All you need to do is take off the screen and make sure the home button is secure before you tighten it back up. This exact issue has happened to me many times before i eventually started to test the home button before i actually replaced the screws. Hope this helps :D
I had the same problem. Discovered after taking if apart several times I had s longer screen holding the plate in. It needs two short screws. Solved my loose button problem. Good luck.

Same problem here. Its ridiculous. They won’t sell the screen with the home button even if you ask them to. And this pretty much always happens with the 4S.
I sent my cracked screen to a local shop to get repaired but they have broken the home button! I’m thinking of asking the shop guys to repair it, as they were the ones who broke it. But I’m not sure that I have a guarantee
