Chosen Solution
When I turn my camera on and start filming, the LCD screen is showing strange distortions and lines in the picture. I have tried recharging the batteryand resetting the camera to no avail.
If you can PLAY tapes in PLAY/EDIT mode (and the on screen text and menus are working) but you cannot RECORD in CAMERA mode (the viewfinder/LCD screen showing no discernible/strange/distorted images), then you need to replace the CCD sensor.
