All the other buttons work like butter but not the left stick on the d-pad. Why though? Also, the other sticks on the d-pad work just fine by the way. (right, up, and down sticks all still work but not the left stick.) Right now, I haven’t tried anything yet because I’m afraid I might break my gameboy.

Follow this guide, but at step 16, after taking the rubber pads off, clean the black part with a Q-Tip covered in isopropyl (or rubbing) alcohol. Reattach the screen and battery, turn the console on, and press the rubber pad down on its accompanying contact. Does it work?
