I have this same issue. I replaced the water inlet valve unit but I still have the issue. Water is filling up the drum when not in use. What else could it be?
Hi @bpclinton, What is the make and model number of the washer? Try turning off the hot and cold water supply faucets to the washer, one at a time, allow some time for the water to fill and check if the tub still fills or not. If it doesn’t fill, close the open faucet and open the one that was closed and then check again This is to find out whether the problem is associated with the hot or cold water supply. If it still fills when both supply taps have been closed, remove the washer drain hose from the standpipe and check if the tub is still filling. If not then the drain hose may be syphoning the water back into the machine from the drain. This could be either a drain vent problem or a blockage in the drain
