I just discovered that there is a large area that is much brighter than the rest of the screen. The area is still functional and still displays images but it sticks out like a sore thumb
Looks like you has something spill in your bag and managed to find its way in through the hinge area and then migrate into the defuser sheets area damaging them (there appears to be some white stain on the clutch cover). Here’s a breakdown of the display assembly so you can see MacBook Pro Retina Display Teardown To repair this really requires a new display assembly as these displays are not easy to take apart (even I don’t do it any more).
