I have a LG WM2140CW front loading washing machine that is not dispensing fabric softener. Thoroughly cleaned with detergent and toothbrush, but after washing a load, fabric softner still in dispenser. I pour water into dispenser and it siphons out properly. I ran a cycle without the drawer assembly in place and noticed water is not directed over fabric softener compartment during the cycle. What would cause this to happen??
Hi @tillsplus5 , Here’s an image of the softener/bleach does not flow in troubleshooting flowchart taken from the service manual for the washer. Looking at the chart maybe there is a problem with either the prewash inlet valve or the wiring to the valve. I only suggest this as the fabric softener dispenser appears to be in the prewash compartment. Try adding the pre-wash option to a cycle and the check if the detergent added for the pre-wash is used or not to see if it is the same valve used for the fabric softener. Hopefully this is of some help.

Technician was just here for this question. He says hot water releases fabric softener. The hot water was off. I wash in cold water only. I guess it needs hot water in order for the fabric softener to release. These new washers are a pain. Computers n all. That’s what he told me. Turn on hw valve
