I replaced this iPad Mini 3 with a new screen from iFixit and the customer brought it back saying that it was doing things on it’s own without her even touching it. I confirmed that is the case and it seems to be happening when a slight bit of pressure is applied to the lower left or right corners. I took a video if you would like to see it happen. I opened it up again and nothing looks pinched and I put some EMI tape over the home button cable, since I read that may help. ANy ideas here? I also ordered a new screen in case I have to go that route. Thanks in advance! Bodhi
Have you confirmed that the cable for the digitizer is seated correctly? Also, I have heard that a power cycle may also fix the problem sometimes.
I have the same problem with an iPad 3 4G… Even when the digitizer isn’t touching the frame the iPad goes crazy. I’ve tried different digitizers from different companies but still having problems. I know the solutions for the iPad mini 1 and iPad air but with this one i’m stuck… Anyone?
I too just posted this similar question on fixit and i’m in the same boat and no one seems to have a fix for this. We order our parts from china and are the same that many companies sell here in the states. I have contacted my supplier about this issue he stated I should try OEM original apple screen for the iPad mini 3. So on my next order I’ll be ordering some. I’ll report my outcome.
