I have an 05 cadillac sts that has been sitting for a year so i decided to get it running again. I bought a brand new battery for the car and installed it and a new battery for the key fob. When i get in the car the accessories come on and work good until i hit the push button to start the car then everything just goes blank and the car won’t turn over or anything. No check engine light and no security light are on.

I would advise using a multimeter and start checking for continuity beginning at the battery and proceeding along the line to the started solenoid. After you tried starting it the first time did you ever get dash lights again?
