Hi! My iPhone won’t charge, and run out of battery too fast. Yesterday I took a long walk in the rain with no extra protection on my phone such as a plastic bag etc., and I realized that after 20 minutes of listening to music the battery percentage had gone from 90% to 20%. When I got home, I charged the phone as usual, but this morning when I woke up, my phone wouldn’t charge. I tried to charge my iPad with the same charger, and that worked perfectly. So the charger works. I also tried to remove the dust in the input with a toothpick, but this didn’t work. Then I tried to connect my phone to a speaker and earbuds with the wire, and this works. I’ve also tried turning it on and off several times. I have no idea what could be wrong, but it might be water damage since the weather was bad yesterday. There are no apple stores nearby, and t is christmas eve, so i guess the electronics stores and services won’t open. So I’m asking, why isn’t my phone charging?

hello Anne, First, answer the question: since when does the battery drain so quickly? This is the key. A discharged battery indicates a short circuit in the electronics. Could be anywhere. The repair should be quite cheap and be limited to replacing only the damaged flexy tape ($ 20-30). However, a visit to a good workshop is required. It seems to me that the rain you mentioned didn’t matter in the least (as long as it didn’t flood you with a “dry thread” :-). PS. Maybe the Santa will bring you (today/tomorrow) a new phone as a gift? He is amazing sometimes :-) Fingers crossing :-) regards and Merry Christmass.
