After I dropped my laptop I sent it in to the insurance provider to get fixed and when it came back the trackpad, which they replaced, wasn’t and still isn’t working correctly. Specifically the right and left bottom parts of the track pad where the right and left mouse buttons are. They don’t click anymore and when they do sometimes there’s a crunching noise after I click down on the right one and it gets stuck and begins highlighting everything in blue. Plus I can sort of see through the track pad and the case into the inner workings slightly in a thin crevice at the top of the track pad that I’m sure isn’t supposed to be there. What do I do? My computer is an HP Pavilion x360 14-cd1042nr.
If the service center returned your computer without completely fixing it, then they need to remedy that. Please call them and tell them the problem so that they finish fixing your device.
Hi @william1213, I totally agree with @dancomptia Based on the observations shared, it is possible that the service center might have not replaced the Track Pad properly or the replaced part is faulty. Take it back ASAP and ask them to examine. Once repaired, test the whole system in front of the technician(s) until you are satisfied. Best wishes…
