I replaced the front display on the iphone 5 and now the front camera appears as black and actually locks up the rear camera and causes it to display sideways. I also noticed the compass is going haywire and will not stop spinning. Are these two issues related?
Yes they can be. If the compass IC is damaged it can cause issues with the front camera flex. Or it could be a case of using the incorrect magnetized screw in the standoff next to the compass IC, and a separate issue with the front camera.
