Hey bud, I agree with jayeff, it would be helpful to know what is the pc doing when you plug in your phone? Problems could be anything without more information like, are the correct drivers installed? How is your phone set up to handle a usb being plugged in? Is it set to media transfer, charge only, debugging? Again, as jayeff states, it could be the cable.
