I need help. My tray wont stay closed. It closes for like two secs and then opens right back up. Also theres a green blinking light that never stops blinking idk if that has something to do with it.
This from here “Debris in disc drive If your disc drive tray is stuck and will not open or close, then you have to manually eject the disc. If the eject button still doesn’t work, your disc drive may need to be replaced.” In general, for any optical drive, you want to check the following: Stuck disc or other object in drive Remove the disc If there is a disc in the tray remove it. Disc drive button broke Bad drive gears there is also the possibility that your drive does not read the disk (try other ones) and therefore opens the tray. That would also be connected to the flashing green light, since it indicated that your drive is trying to read a disk. You might try to clean the laser of your drive, or think about replacing your drive. Just remember “The Xbox 360 is designed so that the DVD drive works only with the particular game console it is installed in. Replacing a defective DVD drive with a replacement DVD drive does not work, since the replacement has a different DVD drive key, which the game console won’t accept. …Hope this helps, good luck.
The drive belt in the DVD is stretched out and dirty. Take the belt out of the drive, wash it thoroughly with hot water and dish soap. Pat it dry. Put in a microwave for 1 minute. That will shrink it back to the right size. While you have the drive open clean the wheels with rubbing alcohol using a q-tip. That should fix it.
My 360 was doing the same thing. I tried to unplug the power supply for a few minutes. It was still doing it. I often get the open disk problem too. Can’t play my games anymore if I turn off the console. So I was a lil !#^&@@ off and smacked it and bam, problem solved my door closes now. Lol!! So I dunno what I did but worked for me… Still having problems with the games though…

turn it off wait for about 5 minutes turn it back on clean the inside of the tray or it needs repair
it probably needs repair or turn it of for 4 hours then turn it back on
The drive belt in the DVR player is dirty and it’s slipping. You need to remove it, wash it with soap and water and reinstall it.
