My Asus Zenpad would only be charged when it is on. I have used the factory cable and charger (adapter) and also used others. the result is the same. It would charge when the tablet is on; it would not charge if the tablet is off.
Hi this could possibly be a battery or charging port issue. I would check the port and see if there are any bent pins on the inside of the port.
