My device works while it is plugged in but as soon as I unplug it, it dies.
You should consider replacing the battery. If the device can power on when connected to a charger but will not power on when not connected to the charger is a sign that the battery can not hold a proper charge to power the device. Replace your battery with a new one and that should fix your problem.
