So about a month ago, my phone started to cut off at 90% battery. I would try to cut it back on, and it would show the powering on screen, but would immediately cut back off. The chargers work, I’m sure of that. There are times that the phone will go through the powering on scenario, but cut off the second the home screen was visible.
Hi @lanier , Does the phone stay on when the charger is connected and switched on? If so it may be that the battery is failing under load and it needs to be replaced. Here’s the ifixit Motorola Moto Z Play Battery Replacement guide which shows how to do this. ifixit also sells the Moto Z Play Battery but be aware there are battery shipping restrictions in place.
